Can't make the whole series? Drop-in when you can! 8 wk series Thursdays @ 7pm May 16 - July 18: (SKIPPING: Jun13 & Jul 4) May 16 May 23 May 30 Jun 6 Jun 20 Jun 27 Jul 11 Jul 18 1 hr classes No Pre Reqs required or experience needed All ages 8 wk beginner belly dance series. Slowed down version for those needing more foundational experience. What to wear: Wear whatever you are comfortable in. No shoes. Suggested but not required: something either tight or shows your mid drift so you can see your movement. Hip skirts are also always fun! What to expect: Week 1: Main Moves - Heavily used isolations & shapes: figure 8’s, ribcage circles, body waves & hip circles while focusing on correct posturing. Think slow & circular isolation movements. Week 2: Snappy Moves - Sharper isolations: locks, drops & lifts with chest, hips, shoulders, etc. & shimmies. Think in terms of fast, snappy & linear isolation movements. Week 3: Traveling Moves - Turns, spins, traveling steps, some hand & arm movements. We will start learning ways to connect isolations together into a flow. Week 4: Layering Moves - Stepping up the difficulty by adding layers to the basic isolations & traveling moves previously covered. Think of stacking an isolation move with a traveling step, or two isolations together (ex: hip shimmy with a ribcage circle). Week 5: Continued Layering Moves - The possibilities are endless when you start stacking isolations together. This class will work on honing that skill more & learning more of these movements. Week 6: Polishing, Posture, Improvisation - Crisping up our learned moves through posture, framing & some time spent on getting more comfortable with improvisation. Week 7: Intro to Choreography - We will start to learn a choreography around 1 minute in length, using moves learned in the prior weeks. Week 8: Completion of Choreography - This class we will finish up learning the choreography from the previous class & drill it! Feel free to dress up if you like! (Dressing up is always a blast!) There will be no make up classes for any missed classes. You will benefit the most if you can make it to all classes. Please sign up under drop-in tab if doing a drop-in. No refunds, series credit may be given for another series. Series cancellations under 72 hrs prior to series start date are forfeited. Please be aware of the cancellation/reschedule policy. Cancellation Policy
Log into your account to cancel/reschedule. 12 HOURS MINIMUM notice prior to class time must be given or class is forfeited. Unlimited Memberships require the same notice, or full class price fee is due and membership is suspended until fee is paid. Pole Parties, Private Lessons, & Series require a MINIMUM of 72 HOURS notice or else payment is fully forfeited. $75 non-refundable fee for party cancellations under 7 days. No exceptions. No Refunds or trades. Unless in the event of a medical emergency, credit may be given if a medical note from a licensed practitioner is provided for the specified date & time of missed class. Credits expire 1 month from issue date. Bookings close 12 hours prior to class start time. 15-MINUTE LATE In consideration of other students and for safety reason, please arrive no more than 15 minutes after your sessions scheduled start time or you forfeit your class. Late arrivals do not have adequate time to properly warm up, and are at higher risk of injury. You may depart at any time once the session has started. TRAIN POLICY: To keep things fair, if you get stuck at a train take a picture and show it to instructor IN PERSON. Anything other than in person will NOT credit you. If you end up being more than 15 mins late due to the train, and you would like to still attend class, show instructor your picture and make sure to hop in doing a full body warm up prior to hopping on to pole stuff. We still want you practicing safely & we need to make sure your body is warm! Injuries SUCK to come back from, so make sure you are warm! If you would rather attend a different class due to being so late, that is also an option ONLY if picture of the train is presented IN PERSON.
